The aim of the NHFA is to take the worry out of obtaining and paying for care. NHFA provides a specialist advisory service to older people, their families and carers on financial problems arising when long-term care is required, including advice on how best to meet the cost of care from resources available with an aim to protect and preserve capital whilst also paying increasing fees. Aims: The Citizens Advice Bureaux Service (over 1054 CAB outlets in the UK) is valued as a confidential and impartial advisory service offered by a voluntary organisation, which covers the widest possible range of subjects, and is sensitive to emerging social trends and defects in legislation.The National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux employs a central office staff and area officers to support the Service in the development of new bureaux, training, registration and the maintenance of standards. Central Office also produces the main Information system, updated monthly. Additionally, the information staff provide a telephone and postal consultancy service to bureaux. Last year, the bureaux dealt with 6.5 million new enquiries and this cumulative experience is often used by Government and other committees of enquiry. Central office has no facilities for advice giving to the general public who should be referred to their local bureau.
