We are a volunteer organisation, helping veterans, service personnel and their families adjust to everyday life upon leaving the Service; we are able to signpost them to organisations that can assist their needs; whether it be Housing, Health, Training/Education or just a cup of tea and a chat.

Wigan Borough Veterans Council are based in Platt Bridge Community Zone, but are now opening many small surgeries in the Borough to reach out to every veteran possible; the first of these surgeries being at the Leigh Life Centre in the Leigh Town Hall.

This surgery runs every Thursday from 9am until 1pm, so if you're a veteran/serving personnel in need or want to sign up to be a member of our Veteran's Council just pop in and we'll assist your every need!

Aims: National charity Contact the Elderly provides vital companionship for acutely isolated elderly people who live alone, by arranging monthly group outings for Sunday tea at the home of a volunteer host.
